The aim of the bITjAM is to bring together audio and visual artists, media companies and anybody interested in experimental music.

bITjAM has been a regular event since November 2006. It has seen visitors traveling from all over the UK and from Europe to perform or simply experience the blend of experimental and improvised electronica mixed with some old school methods of performance.

The bitjam project also aims to support new artists wishing to find a way forward with their work by working collaboratively with showcasing events.

We have various opportunities developing in the city of Stoke as well as across the Midlands with regular nights available for new musicians to try out their trade and chance for people to see what we do and have a chat.

We have also developed the preferred futures side of the project which is working with young people and offering hope for the future through art and music. We're currently involved in research projects to determine how we can best offer this service.

Alongside the gigs and workshops we will be involved in providing music for film and any other medium requiring unique soundscapes, we're open to all ideas.

We have a monthly residency at the Rigger which is the best live venue in Newcastle under Lyme.

The sound system is fantastic and is one of the only PA's around that can handle the extreme sonic requirements.

We have been encouraging electronic based artists to use the resident spot to experiment with new directions in sound or just jam with the bitjam.

You can find us every first Thursday of the month starting at 9pm.

Feel free to contact us to discuss playing at the Rigger, it's free to get in however due to the non profit status we cannot pay.
